Tanzania/Zanzibar 21 Days

Kenya & Tanzania/Zanzibar - recommended during the months of July and August

Day 1   Arrive Nairobi

Arrive Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by scheduled flight (guests’ own arrangement). Meet on arrival and transfer to Safari Park Hotel or similar.  Overnight on B&B basis

Day 2  Nairobi – Mt Kenya National Park

Drive to Serena Mountain Lodge in Mt Kenya National Park (165 km - 3 hours). Mt. Kenya National Park is located to the east of the Great Rift Valley, about 175km North-East of Nairobi.  The ecosystem lies in Central and Eastern provinces of Kenya.  At 5,199m the mountain is the second highest peak in Africa. Mt. Kenya is an important water tower in the country. It provides water for about 50% of the country’s population and produces 70% of Kenya’s hydroelectric power. Enjoy lunch and an afternoon game viewing from the lodge’s game viewing areas. Dinner  and overnight Serena Mountain Lodge  or similar

Day 3  Samburu National Reserve

Drive to Samburu National Reserve (4*) (300 km on good road - 4.5 hours).  Samburu National Reserve is one of the lesser-known national parks, but is nevertheless teeming with life. Situated alongside the Ewaso Nyiro River, there is plenty to attract wildlife from the surrounding savannah plains. lunch at the camp and in the afternoon game drive.  Then dinner and overnight Ashnil Samburu Camp or similar

Day 4   Samburu National Reserve

Morning and afternoon game drives + meals. Overnight Ashnil Samburu Camp

Day 5   Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy (185 km - 3 hours). Ol Pejeta is East Africa’s Largest Black Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees and holds some of the highest predator densities in Kenya. Lunch at the camp then enjoy an afternoon game drive.  Afterwards dinner and overnight Sweetwaters Camp, tented accommodation. 

Day 6  Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Morning visit to chimpanzee sanctuary and rhino centre, and enjoy some game viewing.  After lunch take an afternoon game drive.  Later dinner and overnight Sweetwaters Camp

Day 7   Sangare Conservancy

Drive to Sangare Conservancy bordering Aberdare National Park  (150 km - 2.5 hours).  Enjoy lunch at the camp and for afternoon activities there is a choice of horse riding, boating on the lake, escorted nature walk or hiking.  Dinner and overnight Sangare Tented Camp (3*)

Day 8   Sangare Conservancy

Morning game drive and same choice of activities as above.  After lunch more activities as above. 

After an activity filled day enjoy  dinner and overnight Sangare Tented Camp

Day 9  Nakuru National Park

Early morning game drive.  Then after breakfast drive to Lake Nakuru National Park  (175 km - 3.5 hours with time at falls). View Nyahururu Falls en route, take lunch at the lodge and afternoon game drive.  In the evening dinner and overnight Lake Nakuru Lodge or similar

Day 10  Lake Naivasha

Morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, also take a  drive to Lake Naivasha (75 km - 1.5 hours).  Lake Naivasha is home to an array of birdlife which includes fish eagles, ospreys and lily-trotters, as well as larger grazers such as zebra, impala, giraffe and hippos. The lake is ideally situated for some relaxation. After lunch take an afternoon boat excursion.  Dinner and overnight Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort or similar

Day 11   Masai Mara Game Reserve

Drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve  (260 km - 4.5 hours). Lunch at the camp and then afternoon game drive. Dinner + overnight Mara Fig Tree Camp or similar. This is in a good location for viewing the migration during game drives and possibly river crossings. 

Day 12  Masai Mara Game Reserve

Morning and afternoon game drives + meals + overnight Mara Fig Tree Camp

Day 13  Masai Mara Game Reserve

Morning and afternoon game drives + meals + overnight Mara Fig Tree Camp

Day 14  Masai Mara Game Reserve

Morning and afternoon game drives + meals + overnight Mara Fig Tree Camp

Day 15  Masai Mara Game Reserve

Drive to Nairobi and lunch at Carnivore Restaurant.  Afterwards transfer to Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for scheduled flight with Fly540 to Zanzibar departing 1600 arriving 1735. Meet on arrival and transfer to Karafuu Beach Resort & Spa + accommodation in Cottage Room on half board basis for 06 nights

Day 16 to Day 21 – Zanzibar

Day 21  - Zanzibar - departure

Morning transfer to Stone Town and enjoy a tour of the city. Lunch at Mercury Restaurant and then visit the spice gardens.  Carry on to Zanzibar Airport for flight to Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by Fly540 departing 1755 arriving 1930  to connect to onward British Airways flight  -

Passengers should bring only soft sided bags on safaris.

Identification may be required when boarding all flights including domestic and charter flights. 

Passengers should keep their passport in their carry-on bag to avoid delays.

Passengers arriving to East Africa may be required to present a valid certificate for yellow fever vaccination.
